Visiting a new church can be intimidating:
What should I wear?
Where do I park?
Where do my kids go?
We understand the many thoughts that can come from visiting a new church, so we want you to feel completely comfortable when you visit. To make your visit easier we've come up with a few frequently asked questions. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to contact us or visit the Welcome Table across from the sanctuary when you visit.
What is the service like?
Our Sunday Worship Service begins at 10:45 a.m. It is located in the sanctuary on the west side of the building. Often times it is preceded by a prelude as people greet each other and make their way to their seats. We always begin the service with a greeting and a quick rundown of important announcements from the stage.
After the welcome you'll be invited into a time of singing. The worship team strives to appeal to multiple generations and backgrounds through a blended worship service that includes both traditional and contemporary selections. Our worship team is made up of many instruments and voices from the congregation and is primarily driven by a strong piano presence.
The services end with an opportunity to pray with members of the prayer team and a song or two led by the worship team. After which people stick around to talk and catch up on each others' lives. Many weeks a catered lunch is offered after the service in the Fellowship Hall.
Please note that we also offer a Sunday School hour beginning at 9:30 a.m., as well as many other groups meeting throughout the week. For more information on these exceptional opportunities check out our Get Connected page here.
What should I wear?
We want you to feel comfortable. After all, we are thrilled that you're joining us and want you to be more focused on the service than what you're wearing. We are more concerned with meeting your real life needs than with what you wear. Many people come in comfortable clothes, such as a polo and jeans, while others prefer to still put on their "Sunday best," and that's fine, too! We think you'll fit in no matter how you dress.
Where do my children go?
Covenant offers a children's program on Sunday mornings for newborns through 5th grade. All classrooms are located on the second floor of the education wing, which is on the east side of the building. Your children will be checked in, via KidCheck, and you will receive a receipt sticker which you will need in order to pick up your child.
For the safety and security of your child, it is important that you keep track of your receipt sticker. This helps us know that you are the person authorized to pick up your child.
How do I get to Covenant?
Covenant Baptist Church is located between Orchard Lake Road and Farmington Road on West Maple in West Bloomfield, Michigan on the north side of the street.
From I-696: Take the Orchard Lake exit and turn north onto Orchard Lake Road. Go three miles and then use the turning lane at Orchard Lake and West Maple to turn left (west) onto West Maple. Pass through the next light at Daly Road and prepare to turn right as you pass the church on the right hand (north) side of the road.
From M-5: Take M-5 to West Maple Road, where you will turn east. Continue on West Maple Road for a little over four miles. After the second roundabout at Farmington Road you will pass through a light at West Maple and Rose Blvd., prepare to make a left (north) turn at the appearance of a turning lane on West Maple. The entrance is located just after the hillside with the Covenant Preschool sign.
Where do I park?
Parking is available around the entire building with handicap accessible parking located both in front of the builidng on the south side and in the main parking lot on the west side of the building. The best location for parking is perhaps the main parking lot on the west side as the entrance will bring you into the main hall in front of the Welcome Table andthe Sanctuary.
Am I expected to put money in the offering?
If you are visiting with us, we want to give everyone an opportunity to give using the offering boxes, on-line through your bank or through the Give-Lify app, or by mailing in to the church. For more information on Offering please visit the Giving page.
