Advent Season at Covenant

Advent Sunday's

The word Advent means arrival, and it refers to the arrival of Jesus Christ into the World.  The “Advent season” usually starts four weeks before Christmas and concludes with the celebration of Christ’s birth.

Slightly over 2,000 years ago, God came down from Heaven and became a human being:  Jesus Christ.  As the Bible says, “The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us” (John 1:14).

Think of it:  God became a man!  He did it because He loves us, and that is what we should celebrate as Christmas approaches.  Take time between now and Christmas to reflect on this great truth.

Each Sunday we light a candle that symbolizes His light to the world during the Worship Experience.

An Advent Mini Bible Study

During this time of uncertainty, there is a tremendous need for hope, faith and love (1 Corinthians 13:13).  The hope we have is in Jesus our Christ who came in the form of a new baby in humility.  He will come back again as the risen conquering King.

This Advent Season, we will host a virtual Advent Mini-Series called, “Hope for the Hopeless.”   This study will be facilitated by Pastor Jabulani McCalister and the Ministerial Staff of Covenant Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.  All sessions will be pre-recorded and will premiere on YouTube for on demand viewing.

  • December 2nd, Pastor Nikita McCalister, Associate Minister

  • December 9th, Minister James Vision, Children’s and Youth Director

  • December 16th, Pastor Jabulani McCalister, Senior Pastor
